I was really excited when I came across this product. So excited, in fact, that I had to do a Screencast-o-matic review. I couldn’t believe I could do so much with a free product. I have been interested in creating my own tutorials and videos for quite some time now. I just didn’t have time to do an in-depth search for one. I was looking for a product to record my desktop. I didn’t want to invest a lot of money in extra equipment like video cameras, microphones, headsets, etc. I just wanted something that would allow me to speak and record my desktop. Anything extra would be a bonus.

There’s a lot to love about this little piece of software. You can see by the screenshot to the right all the extra features you get if you get the pro subscription. At $15 a year, that’s an incredible bargain. That’s barely over $1 a month! I really appreciate the fact that the folks at Screencast-o-matic has made this product so affordable.
Why I Purchased the Screencast-o-matic Pro
Like I said earlier, I was pretty excited to get my hands on this little gem. I immediately started making test recordings. After I made a few test recordings, I made a short 10-minute tutorial that I wanted to upload to my site. Because I didn’t have the pro version, I couldn’t go back through the video and edit. I ended up making the same video 9 times and they were all crap!
So the $15 per year subscription was a no-brainer for me. I’m making tutorials and editing with ease after taking a look at some of the training videos Screencast-o-matic have on their Support page.
