Hubstaff Talent Complaints

No Set Pay Amount

Some jobs listed do not have any pay amount listed. So while you may find a job that looks great, you won’t know what the pay is until you apply. This means that you can waste a lot of time applying to jobs that don’t meet your pay threshold.

Low paying jobs

I took a look at the jobs available here and the pay would be similar to Upwork or Fiverr. Most of the hourly rates were under $10 an hour which is disappointing especially if you have decent skills. There were a few jobs that paid $20/hour and a few as high as $50/hour.

Fixed Price Jobs Not Great Either

There are also jobs that have certain budgets that are listed as “fixed price.” One such job I found was listed as paying $600. When I looked at the ad a little closer, the company indicated that they were looking for someone to be a full-time customer service representative and would be paid $400-$650 per month. At $650 a month assuming a month has 4.2 weeks, you would make only $3.85 an hour for a 40-hour work week.

Inactive Status: Hubstaff do not record your keystrokes. But the online tracking software will record you as inactive status if it finds you are idle for five minutes so you will have to ensure that you have no interruptions when you are “on the clock.”

Is It Worth Joining Hubstaff?

I’ve filled out my profile and I am hoping to get some work here but I’m disappointed in the hourly rates averaging under $10 per hour. For someone just starting out with their freelancing business, this could be a great place to get your feet wet. There are also a number of jobs here that have no pay amount listed.

According to my research, Hubstaff Talent is a legitimate company. I have found a few  freelancers who work for Hubstaff Talent and have been happy with their experience.

For freelancers that have good skills, you may find the pay disappointing. With pay this low, you’d be working a lot of hours to meet your income targets. At the time of this writing, there were only 620 jobs available. That’s not a lot considering that these jobs are available to freelancers globally so it’s also highly competitive. Maybe that’s why some of the rates are so low.

If you want to make it as a freelancer, you’d be better off creating your own website and doing some local networking in your area. To get started building your own freelancer website, click here. You’ll get 2 free websites, support, hosting, training and a whole lot more.
