What is Inbox Dollars?
Inboxdollars.com is a rewards site where members get paid for completing surveys, watching videos, playing games, verifying emails, and other online market-type research. It was founded by Daren Cotter in July 2000 under CotterWeb Enterprises, Inc. and is based in Minnesota.
How Does Inbox Dollars Work?
Inbox Dollars offer surveys, contests, videos, games, and sweepstakes for you to participate in. When you sign up, you provide personal information about your marital status, income, education and even medical history. The offers you complete will be based on your personal information. Each time you complete an offer, you’ll be paid.
Inbox Dollars Requirements
Inbox Dollars have only a few requirements but they are pretty strict about them. Here’s what we found:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You can only have one account per household
- Must provide a valid email address
- You cannot use a proxy or a VPN (virtual private network)
- The country listed in your member profile must match your country of residence
What We Like About Inbox Dollars
One of the best things about Inbox Dollars is that none of the offers require any in-depth knowledge or experience like other survey sites such as Swagbucks and OpinionWorld. Other things we liked are:
- 24/7 live customer service
- $5 signup bonus
- Easy to complete offers

Inbox Dollars Complaints
While Inbox Dollars may be a pretty convenient way to make a few extra bucks, there are a few things listed below that may have you hitting the pause button:
Inbox Pounds is not available to residents outside the U.S. They do have a sister site in the UK site called Inbox Pounds but it is not available to members outside the U.K.
Account Suspension Without Warning
Inbox Dollars can suspend or curtail your access at any time without notice.
No Responsibility or Liability
They can’t be held liable for any damage caused by computer viruses, other harmful computer programs, or programs you download in the use of the website.
Inbox Dollars also claims no responsibility or liability if a company withdraws their program from the Inbox Dollars site. This means that if you earn money from completing a survey, for example, and the company decides to leave Inbox Dollars, you may not be paid for that survey depending on the timing. Inbox Dollars is under no obligation to ensure you are paid from that company.
Contact With Advertisers May Cost YOU Money!
In accordance with the Terms and Conditions, you also agree to allow contact with Inbox advertisers via email, text, fax, phone, social media and other push notification apps. Depending on your phone plan, you could incur charges on your mobile phone or through your data plan.
Increased Risk Of Spam
Each time you enter your email address on an offer, you open yourself up to receiving spam. According to the BBB, there are numerous complaints about being inundated with spam after signing up with Inbox Dollars.
Your Credit Card May Be At Risk
There are some offers that require you to provide your credit card details in order to test a product. You don’t pay for the product but the advertiser requires it so you can test the product by downloading, etc. There are anecdotal complaints from members that have had their credit cards charged for products they tested.
Your Withdrawals Will Cost You
Anytime you request a withdrawal, InBox Dollars will charge you a $3 processing fee. Considering how long it may take you to earn enough to cash out, it’s
Questionable BBB Rating
Inbox Dollars is registered with the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating yet there are numerous complaints from members who have not been paid, had their account suspended or closed, no Paypal option and complaints about being charged for withdrawing funds and charges on members’ credit cards among others.
As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to give this one a pass. If you’d rather start your own online business, get started for free with Wealthy Affiliate by clicking here.
Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?
Even though Inbox Dollars has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, the number of complaints send red flags up for me. As a side note, when I tried to sign up with Inbox Dollars, my screen displayed a box to allow notifications. In order to proceed, I had to agree. Once I did that, I started to receive a ton of annoying pop ups that took me an hour to source and get rid of.
When you are deciding whether to sign up with Inbox Dollars, keep in mind that you may be taking financial risks as well as computer risks. I would never advise anyone to download software unless they knew it was safe. I also don’t think you should need to supply your credit card details for any reason.
Before you join, I would strongly advise you to read the complaints on the BBB site here. Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my Inbox Dollars review. If you decide to join, I hope you’ll come back and let us know what you think of the site by leaving a comment below.
